Shmaoyl Derwosh

This is Shmaoyl. Standing outside of The Hookah Joint on Devon Ave, he stopped me to ask if I wanted to take his picture. When I agreed, he continued to tell me about how he fought in the Persian Gulf War in Kuwait City. Donning a US Army hat while flashing his "official army id," he pointed to the pasted-on picture on the front left, laughing, "You need a picture of me, did you not know that I am Saddam Hussein?" Shmaoyl described how, during the war, an American troop shot him in the face, leaving him blind in one eye. "America is not too bad though," he added. "The people here are nice."
